My WEDGIE barrel removal tool is made from genuine American Red Oak. The tool is machined to the perfect size and shape so its small end can be used to start your wedge moving out of the barrel by tapping the big end with a mallet. (see photo below)

Next . . .

. . .the wedge is inserted with the tapered faces between the cylinder and barrel and then tapped on its wide front face, the lever action gently and correctly, forces the barrel forward off the frame without damage.
