Gunsmithing Guns of the Old West, expanded 2nd Edition, 2004

Dave, I just received your Gunsmithing book, and it is fantastic! I don't do many book reviews, but yours will definitely be in the next Dispatch. Congratulations, & thanks for the exceptional reference! Jim Supica, Old Town Station Dispatch

Gunsmithing Guns of the Old West
- the 3rd edition. . .where is it?

Gunsmithing Guns of the Old West, 2001, 1st edition: sold out.

Smith & Wesson Sixguns of the Old West, 2004

It is obvious to this reader that a tremendous amount of work and research went into this valume. . .It not only makes for fascinating reading, it is also an exceptionally valuable reference work. . .Having always been fascinated by what the gunmakers of the 1850's were able to accomplish, I found it most interesting to experience the connection between all of these men and many others as explained in Chicoine's remarkable book.
On my bookshelves are several volumes on the Colt Single Action Army and Remington single actions, they are now joined by this excellent treatise on the Smith & Wesson. . .Sixgunner (John Taffin)

Guns of the New West, 2005

Dave, This new book of yours, Guns of the New West is simply terrific! What a wonderful thing to have reports on new guns and ammo like that from a pro gunsmith and fellow shooter. Just what a feller needs to help him get started in cowboy shooting and it is a valuable resource for us old-timers as well. Tim Smith

Antique Firearms Assembly/Disassembly

David, I wanted you to know I picked up a copy of your latest book yesterday, Antique Firearms Assembly/ Disassembly and I have not been able to put it down. This is the best reference work for older firearms disassembly I have ever seen, the way you have laid out the disassembly in photographic steps is perfect. Also, this is the first time I have ever seen any mention of how to take care of a loaded gun, a thoughtful and timely gun safety idea. Thank you! Joe Voss
