Marlin 38-40 caliber Safety Model 1894 s/n 151191, 26” round barreled rifle with an absolutely beautiful bore. The receiver has strong traces of color case hardening and the barrel/mag tube have turned grey. Rear sight is a Marbles replacement from the 1940s, front is original. Overall, the metal is all really nice with no serious pitting and great markings. The action is crisp and working very well. The rifle has been restocked with new wood some time ago and it was never fully fitted; it’s still oversize, leaving the opportunity for someone to finish it off correctly. Nice crescent buttplate.
