L. C. Smith Ideal Grade. Serial #35757 manufactured 1948. 16 gauge, 2¾" chambers, an extractor gun with 28" barrels, choked a tight F/IM (.628"/.638") with a nice, tight action. DT. PG. This beautiful, original LC Smith shotgun retains 98% original barrel blue with a small patch of wear at the left rear next to the breech and quite a few small, light handling scratches. The action has easily 99% of the original case colors.
Wood is excellent with almost all its original finish but it does have multiple light scratches and dings, especially on the sides of the buttstock, a small divot missing from the HR buttplate. The checkering is excellent. There is one small crack beginning just behind the upper tang.
Internal barrels are bright and like new with these exceptions: right tube has a line of small pits on its bottom, running forward from the chamber out about 6" and one more small spot of rust about 2" back from the muzzle, also on the bottom of the tube. The muzzles have light rusting. 14¼"" LOP, the gun weighs in at about 6¾ lbs. The is one great little L.C. and would make a perfect candidate for a 16 bore hunter! The piece appears to have been fired very little, the imperfections being from poor handling and storage. Please look for your self.
