Colt 1851 Navy, 4th Model. 36 cal.,7 ½”, 6 shot, all matching #195123 including cylinder, wedge and arbor. Frame marks are faded but readable, excellent barrel marks & other marks, perhaps 60-70% cylinder scene remains. Bore is very good with pits but has very strong rifling. Mostly brown patina with traces original blue in protected areas. Traces of silver on guard. Un-numbered lever has some nice case colors underneath. Replaced wedge screw & lever screw. Mechanicals all operate very well, the cylinder has lots of end-shake and won’t time up all the way; may need a new hand. Good nipples. Grips fit very well, small chips at toe and butt, retains 50-60% varnish. O/A NRA antique VG to nearly fine. SOLD

Colt 1851 Navy, 4th Model. 36 cal.,7 ½”, 6 shot, all matching #106738 including cylinder, lever and arbor, wedge is a replacement. Very good markings w-traces of the cylinder scene. The bore is very good with pits but very strong rifling. Overall finish is mostly brown patina, the straps are all brass. Replaced wedge screw. Mechanically, the gun operates very well and has a nice action. Good nipples. Grips are sanded undersized, small chips at toe and have been hand decorated with checkering on the right and a star design on the left. O/A NRA antique VG. SOLD

Colt 1851 Navy US martially marked 3rd Model, 36 cal., 7 ½”, 6 shot. All matching numbers 61399 including cylinder, lever, wedge and arbor. Excellent markings and military inspectors marks with a strong cylinder scene. The bore is very good; the usual pits but it has very strong rifling. The frame is all grey with large shiny areas in which you can see faint colors, barrel is blue-turning brown patina with lots of small dings and dents, cylinder is grey-brown patina again, with many small dents. Lever has strong traces case colors esp. under. Overall, all the edges and corners are quite sharp, this gun has not been played with. Grips are tight fitting with minimal shrinkage and the tiniest of chips at the toes. Mechanically this piece is excellent with vg nipples and the cylinder still has all six of its “pins”. O/A NRA Antique fine. $10,950.00

Colt 1861 Navy, martial, 36 cal, 7 ½”, 6 shot. Several hundred sold to US Army and Navy during the Civil War. All matching numbers 5766 including cylinder, lever, wedge, grips, straps and arbor. Military inspectors markings are almost everywhere; they still appear on the frame, barrel, wedge, arbor, cylinder and both grip straps. All grey patina. Cylinder scene is gone but patent-serial marks readable, barrel address very faint. Remainder of markings are sharp and clear. The bore is very good; has usual pits but strong rifling. Overall, all the edges and corners are sharp, this gun has not been messed with. Grips are tight fitting with minimal shrinkage, tiny chips at toes. Mechanically about excellent with vg nipples. O/A NRA Antique very good. $9,795.00

Colt 1860 Army 44 cal., 8” barrel, 6 shot. FLUTED cylinder, 4 screw frame, the backstrap and shields are cut for stock, a very early gun w-matching numbers except the wedge and arbor (home-made, oversized replacements.) Good Hartford barrel address and cylinder patent. The bore is really good; it has some of the usual pits but extra strong rifling. All grey-brown patina with a fair amount of heavier dings and dents on the cylinder & barrel. Guard bow dented and misshapen. Traces blue at the top of the backstrap. Unusual letter G inspector marking on the side of the guard flat and on the frame face. Army size grips are sound but sanded undersized and small chips out of the toes and butt. Mechanically very good with vg nipples. O/A NRA Antique good-very good. SOLD

Colt 1860 Army martial, 44 cal., 8” barrel, 6 shot std round cylinder. 3 screw frame cut for shoulder stock. Matching numbers 72261 on frame, barrel, straps; the cylinder number is illegible but the cylinder carries the same inspectors initial as the barrel. The wedge number is only 11 digits away. Good military inspector marks on major parts. The barrel address is missing as is the cylinder scene, but oddly, the cylinder patent date is stiil pretty good. The finish is all grey patina with some external pitting on the barrel, the frame is a nice grey with little pitting and sharp edges. Grips are very good, with small amounts of shrinkage, they are tight fitting and have only small divots missing at the toes and butt. Mechanically, the action works very well, look-up is good and the nipples look good, I believe someone has ground the front of the arbor pin as when you loosen the wedge, its fit is quite loose in the barrel, if the wedge is pushed in, the barrel locks well. O/A NRA Antique good. $1850.00

Colt 1860 Army Civilian. 44 cal, 8” barrel, 6 shot. std round cylinder. 3 screw frame not cut for shoulder stock. Matching numbers 172037 on frame, barrel, arbor, wedge, straps and cylinder. The barrel address is faint but the cylinder scene is about 90% and the remainder of the markings on the gun are quite strong. The metal is all a grey-brown patina with traces of blue in protected areas. Overall the metal has sharp edges, corners. It looks original and very crisp. The grips are very close fitting and retain about 70% varnish, there is one divot near the left butt and tiny chips at the toes. The bore has strong rifling with less than the usual amount of black powder era pitting. I do note a small air-gap between the barrel lower and frame however, the lockup of these two items seems very tight. Mechanically the action is very tight and operates perfectly. O/A an NRA Antique fine condition 1860. SOLD

Colt 1860, 1st Model Richards conversion. 44 CF, 8” barrel, 6 shot. A factory conversion on an early numbered civilian gun. The barrel is a stretched jon; it had been cut apparently to about 4 ½” and someone has welded on an extension from another 1860 barrel. Not a bad job outside, but the rifling does NOT match up. Numbers match on the frame, barrel, cylinder, ejector tube and straps but not the wedge and arbor. Faint but readable barrel address and good frame markings. O/A finish grey/brown patina with lots of dents and small rust pits. Grips have been sanded undersized and are loose. All numbers match and in places the cylinder scene is nearly as new. Although they are in a pitted area, the frame markings are legible and clear. One-piece carved ivory grips show the effects of age and poor storage but they are about as colorful as you will ever see! They have one fair sized chip at the toe. The bore, although it has some pitting is in surprisingly good condition, with extra strong rifling. This pistol's mechanical condition is perfect, tight and crisp. Overall Good plus to very good. consigned Antique $6495.00
