dave@oldwestgunsmith.com Colt 1860 .44 Richards conversion #4668
Colt 1860, 1st Model Richards conversion. 44 CF, 8 barrel, 6 shot. A factory conversion on an early numbered civilian gun. The barrel is a stretched jon; it had been cut apparently to about 4 ½ and someone has welded on an extension from another 1860 barrel. Not a bad job outside, but the rifling does NOT match up. Numbers match on the frame, barrel, cylinder, ejector tube and straps but not the wedge and arbor. Faint but readable barrel address and good frame markings. O/A finish grey/brown patina with lots of dents and small rust pits. Grips have been sanded undersized and are loose. Excellent operating condition, has broken wedge spring and replaced ejector screw. O/A NRA Antique good. $2995.00
