IN! Smith & Wesson .38 Single
Action First Model, "Baby Russian".
Very early production s/n 265 with the extra safety screw hole in
the right frame. The 3¼" barrel has a very good bore; there
is some light freckling but the rifling is clear and very shiny.
This rare blued gun with walnut stocks is in NRA Antique
excellent with 85% plus original blue finish and strong traces of
case colors on the hammer, most of the blue loss is on the
cylinder. The factory letter indicates that this revolver was
sold by Smith & Wesson to Smith & Wesson and
that it went to the son of the "frame shop manager".
The matching original walnut grips still fit beautifully and are
about excellent with some small dings at both butts. A 7 digit
number has been electro-pencil etched onto the front strap-possibly
an evidence number? A truly rare and unique Baby Russian with
wonderful history! Antique, no FFL required. $2099.00
Price reduced to $1799.00!
