Colt double shotgun Model 1883, s/n 4269, 12 gauge hammerless, extractor, manufactured in 1889. The is the 2nd or “finer, fancier” grade with scroll designs on frame and nicely patterned Damascus barrels. The 30” barrels still show strong patterns and have uniformly pitted (medium depth) bores that are choked .710”/.730” with slight denting at the right muzzle. Receiver metal is all grey with excellent markings and engraving, traces of case colors in protected areas. Walnut stocks are worn and have been re-coated with varnish but are not sanded undersized. The LOP is 13¾” and the butt stock has not been shortened, the comb appears to have been altered to fit someone's hand. Checkering and buttplate are very worn but patterns are still visible. We can see a fine crack in the wrist, within the checkering on the right side. Mechanically it is very tight and appears to function perfectly. NRA antique very good to fine. $1195.00 Reduced to $999.!
