Smith Enterprise 1886 Wichester type ladder rear sight

Ron Smith from Smith Enterprise in Tempe, AZ has just sent me a prototype for the 1886 Wichester type ladder rear sight that he will be manufacturing shortly.

The particular rear sight Ron has chosen to replicate is one of the rarest of all the Winchester rear sights (this looks like a "scaled up" version of the Winchester carbine ladder sight) and the prototype is in every respect the most beautifully made replica rear sight I have ever had in my hands. All that is missing from this excellent job are the sight graduations but Ron assures me that the production model sight will be graduated just like the originals were. Like all of Ron's products, the new sight has been beautifully machined from steel bar stock.

Regret that we don't have an image of this new sight ready yet but one will be posted as soon as possible.
