Sharps cartridge firing pins!

Update: 1/10/03 from Ron Smith at Smith Enterprise, 1701 West 10th, Tempe, AZ 85281
Any one who has ever tried to find a replacement firing pin for a cartridge or conversion sharps will be very happy to learn that exact replacement firing pins to fit Sharps will soon be available to the public. The firing pins will be available for the Model 1874 and for the armory cartridge conversions of earlier percussion models.
These firing pins are made in one-piece like the originals, but they are made from far higher quality material than those brittle Sharps parts, being fabricated from modern, 8620 heat-treated steel alloy. With original Sharps firing pins bringing $150. and more at gun shows, I bet there are lots of you who will welcome this new addition to Ron Smith 's ever-growing line-up of superbly made parts. Some people I know have removed the original numbered firing pins and store them away, using this excellent Smith reproduction as the "working replacement".
These beautifully made parts are exact duplicates of the original Sharps parts in every way except one: they are much better quality! We tried our sample by installing it in a friend's original 1874 Sporting rifle and it was an easy "drop in" fit, just like Ron said it would be. The retail price is $125. each for either version.
