Knives 2003 was actually recommended to me by a friend who works at Krause Publishing as being an excellent book to have if you want to see what is currently available in the world of blades. He was right, this is indeed a great choice.

In this book knife enthusiasts can get a good look at all the current custom knife designs that are commercially available and check out the style trends of their favorite knives. There are also in depth feature articles that discuss such diverse subjects as "how to assemble kit knives, antique collectible pocketknives, how to obtain the strongest knife blades, samurai steel, Roman swords, gent's tactical folders, safari steel, and bulletproof handle materials."

The book also contains updated directories of custom knifemakers, suppliers, knife services, importers, and foreign cutlers, and knifemakers club membership lists. This edition contains a the photo index of the knives and makers featured in the previous five editions.

Whether you are a knife dealer, builder, collector or an enthusiast trying to keep up with the times, I think Knives 2003 will make an important addition to your library.
