I am happy to tell you about a new book from the foremost historian on the subject that has instantly become the only really informative study of the Winchester Model 1876 rifle. This exciting new title removes much of the misinformation that we have believed for years, for instance we always believed that the 1876 was merely an enlarged version of the Model 1873. As Houze points out so well using the factory's own records; this rifle was in fact a unique design whose origins predated even the legendary Model 1866.
"This is truly the first authoritative study of the Winchester Model 1876 written using the company's own records."(Mowbray Publishing.) This reviewer couldn't agree more.
Specifics of the Model 1876 such as the numbers made in the standard calibers, barrel lengths, finishes, special order features; all make their debut right here. The new work also offers fascinating details of the actual manufacturing processes Winchester used as well as production costs involved in the manufacture of the 1876. Friends, I could not put the book down from the moment I opened it, in fact I am already on my second read as I write this review. The Winchester Model 1876 Centennial Rifle is written in an easy reading style by a real pro and published by the best in the business, frankly both the contents and their presentation are captivating. Winchester collectors: You are going to flip over this terrific new book, its loaded with priceless information that is not available anywhere else. If you love toggle action Winchester rifles, then there is no better book that I can recommend, it will quickly become a mainstay in your Winchester library.
